When I first got diagnosed, it felt like the illness was suddenly the main character in my life. Everything revolved around. Appointments, symptoms, what I could or couldn’t do anymore. I didn’t recognize myself for a while.

The little basil plant my niece brought me has been struggling. It’s been droopy for days, and I thought about giving up on it more than once.
But today, I took a little time and gave it what it needed, just some fresh soil and a slightly bigger pot. I talked to it while I worked, told it I understood what it felt like to be tired but still…
