Honestly? I teared up a little. (Which is rude. I did not emotionally prepare for this website.)

Just wanted to say thank you. For the tone, the honesty, the absence of “have you tried walking?” energy.

I’m probably going to lurk for a while (that’s kind of my move), but… yeah. This feels like a good place to land. So—hi.

If you’re new here, first of all—hi. We’re so glad you found your way in. Second of all—new platforms can be disorienting, and you deserve one that’s easy to navigate and designed with care. So here’s a quick, judgment-free guide to how this place works.

💡 Where to Start

This forum—Opening Notes—is the place to begin.
Say hi if you want. Or lurk for a while. No pressure.
Just start wherever it feels light and doable.

✍️ Want to Join the Conversation?

You’ll need to sign up (or log in) to:

  • Post, reply, or react

  • Like stuff

  • Personalize your profile

  • And basically do anything other than read quietly from the shadows (which, again, is still totally allowed)

But! You don’t need to sign up to grab resources from the Freebies section.
No account required. No log-in hoops. Just good stuff, ready when you are.

Signing up is free. No strings. No inbox ambush.
We won’t start emailing you three times a day with updates you didn’t ask for.
This is just our way of keeping the space supportive, intentional, and full of actual humans—not bots, brands, or people trying to sell you questionable supplements.

👤 Update Your Profile (If You Feel Like It)

  • Click your little profile picture in the top right corner.

  • You can add a bio, change your display name, upload a photo, or declare yourself the Director of Rising From the Ashes… Again. And Again.

  • Or don’t. You’re still fully valid as a mysterious silhouette.

✨ Don’t Miss the Spark Sessions

We post gentle, doable prompts each week—nothing overwhelming, no pressure. Join in when it lights you up. Sit it out when it doesn’t.
They’re totally optional but a great way to find your footing, catch the rhythm of the space, and share what’s on your mind (or at least keeping the lights on).

You’ll find them in the Spark Sessions section—and sometimes mentioned in What’s Buzzin’? too.

🐝 What’s Buzzin’?

This is our community pulse—a scrolling feed of what’s happening now: new posts, replies, updates, and moments worth high-fiving.

  • You can like and reply to posts directly in What’s Buzzin’—it’s the fastest way to jump in without overthinking it.

  • It’s a great way to catch up if you’ve been away or just want a peek at what people are talking about today.

  • Posts here are short and casual—think quick check-ins, wins, sparks of insight, and real-life moments.

Want to go deeper? That’s what the Deep Thoughts Dept. is for.

🧠 The Deep Thoughts Dept.

This is where we have longer, more layered conversations.

  • You can start a topic, reply to others, and follow threads that resonate.

  • Think of it like a cozy library full of brilliant people who know how to swear, support, and spreadsheet their way through chaos.

If you’re not sure where to post something, this is a solid place to start.

🎁 Looking for Resources?

Check out the Freebies section. It’s full of things we’ve made or shared that are:

  • Actually useful

  • Easy to download

  • And blessedly free of logins, email forms, or digital hostage negotiations

Seriously—just click and grab what you need. Healing is hard enough without playing fetch for your own downloads.

🙋‍♀️ Got Questions?

  • Drop them in Opening Notes, or message an admin.

  • No question is too small. Seriously. Someone once asked if “lurking” was allowed (answer: it absolutely is).

🛑 Reminder:

  • No selling.

  • No weird energy.

  • No spirals that lead to hopelessness.

  • Just real connection, honest stories, smart strategies, and the strength that doesn’t trend.

You’re doing great. We built this place for you.

Let us know what you need—or just hang out until you’re ready.

A.K.A. How We Keep This Place Good for the Soul

This isn’t just a forum. It’s a shared place built with care, creativity, and an incredible amount of behind-the-scenes emotional labor. Here’s how we protect it—and each other.

1. Lead with Respect

Everyone here is carrying something—some of it visible, some of it not. Assume good intent. Speak with kindness. If you’re frustrated, take a breath before you post.

2. Share Your Story, Not Someone Else’s

Talk about your experience, your truth, your strategies. Don’t share someone else’s journey unless they’ve asked you to. And never assume you know what someone else’s path should look like.

3. No Gatekeeping

This isn’t a contest. There are no prizes for having the worst symptoms or the most dramatic diagnosis. We don’t do comparison, one-upping, or “you think that’s bad?” energy.

4. Name Your Needs Honestly

Need support? Ask. Want feedback? Say so. Just need to vent and be witnessed without advice? Let us know. This space works best when we’re clear with each other.

5. Give Support That Meets the Moment

We’re here to witness and uplift—not to jump in with fixes or advice unless it’s clearly asked for. Sometimes support looks like brainstorming. Other times, it looks like saying, “That sounds impossibly hard. I’m so glad you said it out loud.” If someone says they just want to be heard—believe them. That’s enough. That’s powerful.

6. We Speak With Awe

Whether someone got out of bed, set a boundary, or built a spreadsheet with one hand and a heating pad—you’ll never see us shrug that off. We celebrate the effort behind the scenes. We see the quiet victories. We name the brilliance that others overlook.

7. Keep It Generative

We’re not here to spiral. We’re here to share what helps, what heals, what gets us through. Bring the sarcasm, the spreadsheets, the meal hacks, the rants that end in a laugh. Bring what builds.

8. No Harassment, Hate, or Harmful Behavior

That includes bullying, racism, ableism, transphobia, or anything that makes this space unsafe. If you cross that line, you’ll be asked to leave. No drama. No debate. Just boundaries.

9. Privacy is Sacred

This community is built on trust. What’s shared here stays here. Don’t screenshot or share without explicit permission.

10. Don’t Sell Sh!t Here

Look, we love that you’re out there building things. Truly. But this isn’t the place to pitch your program, promote your product, or slide into someone’s healing journey with a discount code.

No MLMs, no affiliate links, no “just thought this might help!” that conveniently links to your store. If you’re here to connect—amazing. If you’re here to convert—nope.

Yes, we may offer a few things we’ve created when they’re relevant, useful, and actually help. But you’ll never find a pop-up funnel here. Pinky swear. Also? We’ve got free resources available. No email-gating, no log-ins, no digital hostage negotiations. If it’s meant to be helpful, it should be easy to access. Period.

Got something genuinely aligned you think belongs here? We’re always open to thoughtful collaborations. Just reach out privately—respectfully, clearly, and with no surprise pitch attached. We’ll take it from there.

Keep it human, not transactional.

11. We Moderate With Love—and Boundaries

Our team is here to protect the tone and spirit of this space. That means sometimes stepping in, redirecting a conversation, or removing posts that don’t align with our values. Not because we love rules, but because we love what we’re building here.

12. Come As You Are—But Don’t Be a Jerk

We welcome real humans in all their messy brilliance. You don’t have to be cheerful. You don’t have to be perfect. You do have to be decent.

And yes—lurkers, observers, and quiet readers are 100% welcome here too. You don’t have to post to belong. Take your time. Read. Absorb. Sit quietly at the back of the room until you feel like raising your hand, we’ll still be here when you do.

13. We Protect the Light

This community is a soft place for strong people. If someone’s disrupting that softness, we’ll gently (or firmly) address it. We protect the tone so it can keep being a space where you don’t have to flinch or brace.

This isn’t intake.
You don’t need a diagnosis to be here. No symptom lists. No severity scales. No pressure to spell out your medical history like it’s a resume.

You’re a human—not a chart.

We’ve all seen what happens in online sites that revolve around diagnosis. It starts with connection… and somewhere along the way, it turns into the unofficial trauma Olympics.
Who has it worse?
Who’s been dismissed more creatively?
Who’s the reigning champ of “I literally can’t even”?

We get it.
Wanting to be heard is human. But around here, we’re more interested in what lifts us out of that spiral.

This is a space where we lead with story, not stats.
With what helps, what matters, what’s real—not just what hurts.

If naming your diagnosis feels grounding—go for it.
If it feels like shorthand for a story no one ever really got right—skip it.
If you’re still figuring out how to talk about it—this is a good place to try.

Because what we’re building here isn’t based on who’s the sickest.
It’s based on who’s showing up, figuring things out, and finding their way—with creativity, clarity, and a ridiculous amount of strength.

So bring the parts that matter to you.
We’ll listen like it’s sacred—because it is.

You’re not a condition. You’re a force. And we see that first.

This doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to struggle.
It means we know how to talk about struggle in a way that builds strength, not hopelessness.

If you’ve spent time in online spaces for chronic illness, you’ve probably felt it—thread after thread of spiraling symptoms, defeat, and despair. It’s not that those feelings aren’t real. They are. But we’re building something different here.

This is a space for action. For strategy. For shared brilliance.

This is where we say things like:
“I managed a full-blown flare and still ran a business meeting.”
“I cooked dinner with one arm and a stubborn streak.”
“I handled an insurance call, a refill snafu, and a school drop-off without biting anyone.”

We’re not here to compete in our suffering.
We’re here to name the effort it takes to keep going, and to swap the kind of ideas, workarounds, and wins that actually move us forward.

It’s not about toxic positivity.
It’s about not letting the hardest parts take the lead in the story.

So if you’re looking for a place where strength is celebrated, where resilience is shared like a recipe, and where we keep the conversation honest without letting it turn heavy, welcome.

You’re in the right place.
No whining necessary.

Let’s build something better, one clever workaround at a time.
