Deep Thoughts Dept.

Welcome to the Deep Thoughts Dept. This is where we overthink with heart, feel things louder than we planned to, and occasionally say something brilliant without trying. No need to impress. No need to fix it. Definitely no need to "circle back." Say the thing. Feel the thing. Or just scroll quietly — that counts too. In case no one’s told you lately: You’re not behind. You’re carrying more.

Ever have one of those mythical good mornings where—for a hot minute—you feel almost human? You think, This is it. I’m back. Today’s the day I do all the things.

You ride the wave, maybe even fold some laundry, and for a glorious moment, it feels like life might be doable.

Then—bam. Your body folds like it just tripped over an invisible wire labeled “Too Much.”

    Wait—what even was that?

You’re not broken. You’re not lazy. You’re living in a body with a different user manual—one the world tends to misplace.

Chronic illness alone can short-circuit your energy. But sometimes it’s the daily stressors—the quiet, constant ones—that quietly exacerbate the drain.

That’s what we’re gently exploring this week.

✨ This week’s Spark is all about noticing what’s draining your light—the sneaky, quiet things that wear you down before you even realize it.

You don’t have to fix them all. You don’t even have to name them all.
Just notice. That alone is powerful.

That act of noticing? That’s self-compassion. And it’s how we protect the strength we still have.

    🔎 Try This:

    • Think back to a moment today when your energy flickered. What was happening?
    • Grab a notebook (or the printable below) and list your Drainers and Energizers.
    • Look for patterns. Just observe—no pressure to act yet.

    💭 Reflect:

    • What’s one sneaky drainer that’s been quietly nibbling at your energy?
    • What’s one little energizer you could lean into today—even if it’s just clean sweatpants?
    • What changes when you stop blaming yourself for feeling low, and start tending to what’s dimming your light?

I almost didn’t even open this because I thought, “Ugh, another thing I’ll feel bad about not doing.”

But it turns out just noticing how drained I felt after staying in a conversation I didn’t have the energy for was eye opening. This is something I can work on now that I realize that it isn’t being polite – it is actually zapping my energy. That is the LAST thing I need!

I didn’t make a list. I didn’t fill anything out. I just laid there and thought, “Wow. That thing that’s ‘not a big deal’? It actually takes a lot out of me.” I think I will journal these as I start to notice others.

Most days it’s hard to point to one thing and say, “That’s what drained me.” It’s usually smaller stuff that slips by until I suddenly feel fried.

Like doing chores I usually enjoy but with the news on in the background. I find that if I turn off the news and put on some soft music I feel like I am cutting out some unneeded stress. <br data-start=”707″ data-end=”710″> Or spending ten minutes on Facebook for a quick break that turns into an hour of scrolling and feeling worse than when I started. (how does that always happen? haha)

None of it feels like a big deal. But by the end of the day I am realizing these moments add up and matter. Just noticing helped more than I expected.
